I want to take time today to say a huge congratulations to 12 individuals who decided to embark on a healthy new journey. These 12 individuals took the first step into jump starting healthier habits about a month ago.
When I first introduced Zumba’s Shake Shake Shake program to my fitness classes, I did not know what to expect. I had tried Zumba’s new shake and loved it (not an easy feat for someone who can not stand the taste of protein shakes!). But to roll it out to others was something completely new. After a week of sampling, 12 people signed up to start my very first ever 21 day jump start challenge. The 21 days included Zumba’s new shake, online platform complete with work out videos, meal plan and recipes and weekly check-ins by yours truly.
I could not be prouder of these 12 men and women. They shared their success stories with me and by the end of the challenge our group lost a total of 82 pounds! Now while this weight loss is amazing, there’s something else to recognize that’s even more amazing. Each of the people that completed this challenge didn’t see their journey ending. They found easy lifestyle changes that they want to stick with for the long haul. No one was looking for a quick fix, but a jump start. Not only was the weight loss an accomplishment, but they physically felt better and more energized.
Now some people may think that since I’ve been a devoted Zumba Fitness enthusiast and instructor for over 6 years, my opinion is skewed. However, I don’t chalk up my support of this program to drinking the Zumba Kool-Aid. My support behind the product and program is solidified by the success of these wonderful and determined participants.
