(SPOILER ALERT. Mentions who got Lucille’d in Season 7 premiere)
It was a rough one. After much debate among fans everywhere, we found out who “took it like a champ” and said good bye to Glenn and Abraham. It was shocking and heartbreaking and over the top brutal. I don’t know that I’ll ever recover completely! My favorite show on television is now forever changed and it’s going to be a crazy season.
As a saving grace, at least we gave the two fallen (or beaten) heroes a tasty mourning party! And even if the thought of last night’s episode made us lose our appetite, you wouldn’t know it because we ate and drank plenty!
A bit of background: I’m cheesy. I know this; I own my cheesiness. I always love theme parties. Anyone who knows me knows that any chance I get to have a theme, I jump at it! My friends lovingly make fun of my over-enthusiasm, all the while enjoying the spoils of my cheesiness.
Then I met Dawn. She’s super creative, artistic, a great friend, talented and one of the sweetest people I’ve met. And to top it all off, she’s someone who has the same love for theme parties as I do! I never fully realized we shared this trait until The Peanuts Movie came out last winter. We had planned to go see it with our daughters and husbands and have dinner at her house afterwards. I was much more excited for our theme dinner than the actual movie outing. Our Peanuts themed dinner was mocked by the men, but we didn’t hear any complaints while they were scarfing down Thai peanut noodles, peanut butter cup s’mores and peanut butter martinis!
So our Walking Dead viewing party was no different. Okay, party might be a stretch, as it was just us! But that certainly wasn’t going to stop us from going full out zombie mode. So we took to Pinterest and came up with our menu.
While the zombies noshed on the remains left behind from the newly deceased, we noshed on some pretty tasty, albeit nasty looking, eats! Here’s what we had!
Cinnamon Bun Brain Jello Shots
Mini Meatloaf Brains
Intestine Pizza
Rolo Brain Pull Apart Bread
Blood and Guts Cocktails
R.I.P Glenn and Abraham. You both went out in an unforgettable way (trust me, I’ve been trying to forget but it kept me up last night!). We raise our Blood and Guts to you. You’ll be missed!
